tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976, in Torrance, California. He was raised in the southern part of California, and attended Huntington Beach High School where He was a leading player on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He led the team in football into the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he set a record for the school bowl by catching nine times. The following year, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. After graduating from highschool in 1997, he was selected for the NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as the thirteenth overall pick. Gonzalez was with the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. Then, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez never caught less than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
